Set against a backdrop of the picturesque Meon Valley, Wickham Park is an attractive 18 hole; par 69 5,868 yard parkland golf course which offers all year round play.

Wickham Park Golf Club is a delightful place to enjoy a challenging and exciting round of golf so you will need to display good course management skills if you are to stand any sort of chance of scoring well here. The course is kept in magnificent condition throughout the year by the dedicated team of green keepers and the setting for the course could barely be more idyllic with fantastic panoramic views of the surrounding area to enjoy all around.

The golf course it’s self which was designed by Jon Payn in 1991 has a number of holes that will require the beginner, average and experienced golfer something to think about. Our signature 2nd hole is 404 yards with a dog leg to the left creating an interesting second approach shot to the green, which many players tend to underestimate at their peril.

The 425-yard sixth rewards accuracy off the tee and a fairway metal into the narrow mouth of a long green. Elsewhere you will find forgivingly wide fairways and inviting putting surfaces. Of the five short holes on the course, the tenth and 17th place a particular premium on accuracy, and it is no coincidence that most visiting societies choose the 18th for their long drive competition – the elevated tee and generous fairway demand that you unsheath your driver and launch your ball at the flag 380 yards in front of you. Step off the green and your next stop is the clubhouse to raise a glass, or a cup of something hot, to your efforts. Cheers!

A big thank you to John Edney and John Elliot for both contributing to the above. Both men are Wickham Park members.
